Astounding.

Dating is not a simple manner, at least for a handful of people that is. I could say I'm included on the list but still can manage though, still this great short read of a book is an outstanding help in my opinion. It pointed out tips to building inner confidence and putting yourself out there to try new experiences, which is quite enjoyable if you ask me. And has a lot of good info gathered by the author. Astounding.

I have read a lot of dating books and this is one of the very good guides also base on the experience and proven steps by the author. I like the information that listed in this book because the author gives all necessary information for dating and what you need to consider not even for the one you want but to yourself also.
It is meant to help those who are having some difficulties with their dates or those who want to start having one. It has been so profound in its attempt to help those who'd like to make things happen and undergo another important milestone--their first date. It has given tips and advice on how to go about this. The lessons and tips given by the author also mean so much, once comprehended. This is such a comprehensive dating book and must be read by everyone wanting to start on the dating game.
I have never been one to be successful in the dating scene. I have sometimes wondered why my sister has men flocking to her when I rarely seem to catch someone’s eye. After reading this book I know feel confident about myself, and I can turn on the charm and use my own wiles to get the male attention on me, Reading the book you will discover why you’re of dating isn’t working and how to change it. You will learn new strategies on how to really catch and keep his attention.

It is very difficult to find a true lover specially in these days where we have lots of other things are also involved like a nice house, career etc. In short people changed their values even when you're choosing your life partner. Anyways, this book is based on such a nice and comprehensive content but more importantly I like the way Lisa explain in this book because telling is nothing but if telling in easiest way will make worth so it would make easiness to the reader to read and understand every single point.

Along with this, I found this book useful and helpful for me and I have learned a lot from this book and increased my knowledge as well. Although, I'm married and already found a perfect match for me but with this book's content I hope I can make our relationship more better.

Eyes wide open

This book was a very good read. As I began, I felt as if my eyes were finally being opened. There was this whole world I had never known. The were so many ways to pick up and talk to women that I thought would never work, or never even thought of. I wanted to try them all out, but I felt as if I should finish reading before I set out on my endeavors.
As I read page after page I became more and more interested. I was seeing some of my coworkers in a new light. They acted just like some of the people in this book, some of which I had looked up to. A little more than halfway through, I began to see what direction this book was going in. I am glad I read this book all the way through. I thought that it was women that I was missing in my life. I needed to become a pickup artist, or so I thought. While it is true that women are noticeably absent from my life, that wasn't the source of my emptiness. It was confidence.
It wasn't until the end of book that I realized that I didn't need any fine tuned pickup lines. I needed to just be me, but with more confidence. This book has given me the basic tools I need to start conversations with random strangers, to meet new people, which I had been to afraid to do. So what if they don't like me, the right people for me will. All I need to do is get out there and socialize.
While this book still makes me want to go out and try to pickup women, it's not to become a pickup artist. It's to further myself in every aspect of my life. Women are my vice in life, my weakness, I am afraid of rejection and thusly, afraid of women. If I can overcome my biggest obstacle with confidence, then there is nothing I can't do. Even though Neil Strauss will never know of me and never know how big of an impact his book has had on me, his book has unlocked the door to my future that I can now begin to open. I cannot thank him enough for writing this book. Very highly recommended!

A funny and insightful book that will speak to (almost) anyone.

Strauss does an unparalleled job in both stealing the heart of the reader (who among us has never envied a friend who seemed adapt at attracting partners or berated ourselves for missing out on potential partners?) and breaking down point by point all the good (and yes, the book does not shy away from pointing out to some good things in seduction tricks) and bad that such games might lead to.

I could give you the short-hand version which is like this: yes, you can learn a set of tricks and skills that will attract people and lead them to sleep with you. (I suspect this is more accurate when people are young, between 20-30 say) if that is what you wish. However, at some point you will run out of tricks and be forced to deal with the person you actually are and who the other person is. aka, a real relationship will not become easier to do if you learn a trick or two. But this shorthand does the book an injustice, it's funny, smart, surprising, and in a very odd way very feminist as it describes how seeing young women as targets or prey the seduction tricks can become a nasty subculture for men who are mostly lonely and scared.

A Stepping Stone to Your Inner Greatness

"The Game" is a bit like a chameleon in regard to its purpose and how people will interpret it. It is going to be different things for different people. For some it will be a entertaining documentary about an interesting underground community (the seduction one). For others it will be a self help/life changing book. Others a eye opener/oh s*** moment book (particularly for woman who have been targeted with the techniques Strauss describes). And so on. Or maybe all of the above!

"The Game" is told through stories/first hand accounts of Strausses experience in the seduction community. He manages to tie in the life/self help lessons in nicely with all the drama of a good story. There's rarely a dull moment but I do have to say that it can seem Strauss is bragging at times and this hurts the flow of the story at times.

Personally the book acted as a gateway for me, as I imagine many others, into a much needed self improvement period of my life. I began to realize my self worth, gain confidence in myself and really go out their and make my dreams happen. To look inward for approval rather than bending overbackwards to gain the approval of others.

And I think that's where their is a lot of misunderstanding in the public. The seduction community is more than a bunch of creepy pickup nerds trying to bed and use woman. Often men find their way to the community after years of frustration and loneliness stemming from failure with the opposite sex (something they were never taught how to deal with by school or their parents). Maybe they were abused and suffer from extremely low self esteem. Whatever the case guys like Strauss, Mystery (and others) have been there and have done the hard and tiring work of figuring out what the problem is and how to fix it. And now their sharing this knowledge to others to help them. So it's important to have an open mind and not disregard Strauss because of the subject matter he's discussing.

I do feel the game leaves you wanting more (perhaps this is by design). I would recommend, actually would require, that you check out Strausses follow up "Rules of the Game". It's much more of a "how to" book and features the style life challenge which is a 30 life changing program. It's the book Strauss could wish he could give to his younger self. It's likely to change your life for ever.

While "The Game" & "Rules of the Game" are probably enough for most people those hell bent on mastering romance and or going on a self transformation journey should also check out the following: "No More Mr Nice Guy" (guys), "Why Men Love Bitches: From Doormat to Dreamgirl" (girls), "The Mystery Method", "The Like Switch", "The Solution to Social Anxiety", "Modern Romance", "Text Appeal for Guys", Surival of the S***test", "The Geeks Shall Inherit The Earth", "The Selfish Gene" & "The Rational Male" (volumes 1 & 2).

Born into dire poverty, raised in the slums of Chicago, Curtis became a musical prodigy, not only singing like a dream but also growing into a brilliant songwriter. In the 1960s he became a pioneer, opening his own label and production company and working with many other top artists, including the Staple Singers. Curtis’s life was famously cut short by an accident that left him paralyzed, but in his declining health he received the long-awaited recognition of the music industry.

Todd Mayfield is Curtis Mayfield’s second-oldest son. He is an entrepreneur and former financial services executive in Chicago, and promotes his father’s music and legacy. His music has been featured on MTV, GQ.com, and an independent film that debuted at SXSW. He lives in Gainesville, Florida.

Great read. First book I ever read on Curtis and it's a very interesting one. It's full of inside information that only a person on the inside could provide like the Hendrix book by his brother. Like the Hendrix book, I couldn't put this one down and stayed up late one night to read to the halfway point of the book.

An Excellent Read

I really didn't listen to much of Curtis Mayfield when I was young until the movie, "Superfly," came out. I went to see it in Boston with my then boyfriend. We were so in love with the music we went right out and bought the album and played it until the grooves wore out. When I saw the Curtis Mayfield biography, I instantly was moved to read it. I remember hearing about how tragically his life changed and wanted to know more about him. I also wanted to know how one creative soul could write so much amazing music and be a source of inspiration to so many musicians and listeners. I was hooked by the end of the first chapter. The writer not only tells the story of a man who came from dire poverty, made a tremendous success of himself, but also gives the reader a lesson in the Civil Rights Movement and how so many, especially Curtis Mayfield, with his uplifting lyrics and music, positively affected Martin Luther King's peaceful movement. The last few chapters moved me to tears. They describe how a strong gust of wind changed Curtis' life forever, but never stopped him from making music. Read the book. You won't be disappointed.

I've read hundreds of books on manifesting and really didn't think another would have anything of value in it.......I was wrong! Ken speaks of his experiences in a way anyone can understand it. He has some great ideas I haven't heard of before and wonderful information to keep in mind in your everyday experiences. A wonderful book of great wisdom!

I highly recommend this book to my friends, family and any one who is open to a leaning a simple and effective way of attracting positive events into their life. For many years now I have read, prayed, practiced many different believes on manifesting prosperity, simply to find limiting results and very little consistency. Ken speaks about lifting our limiting expectations with simply exercise that anyone can do. I've also had the pleasure of hearing him speak and demonstrate the power of manifesting, so if you have a chance to take a class, it's like getting "it" instantly. Superbly crafted poetry! Double, and sometimes triple, meanings observed in geographical location translate deeper concepts that truly found a home in my soul. There are so many surprises, one of my favorites was Tectonic Shift; a phenomenal poem that is layered in meaning and highlights a hopeful rebirth. As a writer who revels in inspiration of "place," (see Desert Ramblings - Arid Ebbs of Consciousness), I found this collection to go far beyond the geographical starting point. Finally, so many Indie poets collect 30-40 pages of poems and dub the collection a book; I greatly admire poetry collections that are quantitative as well as qualitative. A spectacular read, and I hope to see more from Alistair Davidson!
